Matcha Spritz Cookie Recipe

If you have an interest in matcha, chances are you have seen matcha used in smoothies, ice cream, pasta, and even donuts!

I love seeing all the ways that matcha is being used, and couldn’t wait to create my own recipe. I dug out an old spritz cookie recipe from my grandma and modified it to include matcha! The result is a light shortbread type of cookie that is perfect with a morning cup of tea.

Matcha Spritz Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups Flour
  • 1 tbsp. + 1 tsp. Matcha Powder
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Margarine
  • 3 oz. Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp. Lemon Juice

Servings:

Makes 6 ½ dozen cookies.

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375*

Mix all ingredients. I recommend mixing the dry products together before adding the other ingredients.  After all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, chill dough in the refrigerator. Place the dough in a cookie press. Following directions for your cookie press, push out desired shapes. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes till edges are barely browned. Enjoy!
