Matcha is a green tea powder with amazing health benefits, and it can help you stay focused and energized! It is extremely versatile and can be made many different ways. Below I have listed 3 super easy ways to make matcha.
#1 Traditional Matcha
To make matcha the traditional way you will need a Bamboo Whisk and a bowl (we recommend this one). If you do not have a bamboo whisk, you can also use a frother. Full Leaf's Matcha Frother is inexpensive and easy to use.
Scoop 1/2 teapoon of Ceremonial Matcha into the bowl, and then pour in 4 ounces of just under boiling temperature filtered water. Use the bamboo whisk to whisk the matcha vigorously in a zig zag motion. After about a minute you should achieve a nice thick froth.
Now the matcha is ready to drink! You can also add milk or sweetener at this point if you would like. Don't let your matcha sit for too long because the powder will start to settle.
#2 Matcha On-The-Go
If you don't have a bamboo whisk, this is a great way to make matcha. You will need a reusable water bottle (or shaker bottle). We like this one.
Grab the bottle and add 1/2 teaspoon of matcha and 4 ounces of just under boiling temperature filtered water. Close the bottle and shake it vigorously for about 30 seconds. Enjoy!
#3 Iced Matcha Tea
This recipe is super close to the one above, but this time double the ingredients. Scoop 1 teaspoon of matcha into the bottle, and then fill it up halfway with ice. Pour in 8 ounces of cold filtered water, and close the lid. Shake the bottle vigorously for about 30 seconds. Pour the liquid over fresh ice and enjoy your perfect cup of iced matcha!
