And it is tumultuous – it's causing all kinds of commotions in the health world!
Turmeric has become a major asset for health – and good thing for us, it's an easy thing to incorporate into... almost anything!
Lucky enough for you, Full Leaf has created new artisan blends involving Turmeric, and they are a treat! Let's just say I have some sneaky tidbits for you about Turmeric as we digest these new teas a little:
Organic Lemon Turmeric Tea
The Organic Lemon Turmeric Tea has very soft flavor notes. It contains white tea, which has been shown to lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and is good for healthy teeth and bones. Lemon Verbena and Lemon Peel give it a gentle citrus taste, and Lemon Verbena alone helps to aid in fat burning, boost immune, and protect muscles; Rose Hips also pack a citrus taste and host plenty of Vitamic C, along with other vital nutrients. Last but not least, Turmeric reduces inflammation and can help reduce arthritis symptoms, as well as ease heartburn and stomach pain.
Organic Turmeric Green Tea
Turmeric and green tea are a dynamic duo in this blend – our Organic Turmeric Green Tea. Green tea helps to increase energy and boost physical and mental performance throughout the day, and I'm just getting started. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants, and can also have the ability to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Did I mention that Turmeric can also lower the risk of heart disease?
Organic Turmeric Ginger Mate
Last, but very not least, is our new Organic Turmeric Ginger Mate. This blend hosts Yerba Maté, and let me tell you that this little leaf packs a punch. It's loaded with caffeine, amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins. If that wasn't enough, Yerba Maté also helps with weight loss, disease prevention, and mood boosting! Quite the little leaf! The little ingredient in Turmeric, known as Curcumin, has been known to prevent brain disease, cancer, and helps with depression. To top it off, Ginger Root is a super herb that is great for overall health. A unique property it has is its ability to help you absorb more nutrients from other ingredients it is consumed with.
Convinced yet? I'd be a little surprised if you weren't. I knew that it had to have some kind of superpower... I mean, look at its color. It's yellow!
Before I leave you, though, I thought I'd share a new favorite turmeric recipe I've discovered, involving pumpkin. I felt that I haven't given you enough pumpkin to all those of you who cannot get enough pumpkin in the fall. If you're a bit biased for Turmeric now, this recipe is for you!
- 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1/3 cup organic pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp organic ground turmeric root
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground clove
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp melted coconut oil
1.) Warm the almond milk up to a simmer in a small saucepan so that it is steaming.
2.) In a blender, blend the pumpkin, coconut oil, honey, and all the spices. Blend well until there are no lumps.
3.) Once the almond milk is simmering, slowly pour in about a 1/2 cup of almond milk into the blender. Blend well and stop, scraping down the ingredients in the blender with a spatula to incorporate everything.
4.) Blend at high speed until the mixture is frothy. Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon and turmeric on top, if you so please.
Quick, easy, and... Yellow.
The color thing still takes a bit of getting used to! Make this on a day when you're feeling down. The color is like sunshine in a cup! And it's also great to know that what you're fighting to drink will also fight for you, too, to keep your body healthy!
