Chicory root is a great ingredient for improved gut health. Chicory root contains inulin which is a type of prebiotic fiber that helps to improve bowel movements, relieve constipation, and cleanse toxins from the digestive tract.

Organic Chicory Root has a woody and earthy flavor.

Add 1-2 teaspoons of tea to 8 oz of boiling temperature water

Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes

For best results, use filtered water (water can really affect the taste of the tea if it is not filtered)

    I don't know what blends with chicory to improve the flavor.

    Hi Ann,
    I would recommend trying cinnamon, ginger, and/or peppermint to help improve the flavor of chicory root. Those are some more popular ingredients that tend to have a stronger, more favorable flavor. We offer all three of those as organic single ingredients if you are interested in giving them a try!

    I haven't used this item yet, but bought the sample for an excellent coffee alternative (mushroom) recipe that I am looking forward to making. If I like the drink, you can be sure I will be ordering more.
