There are two types of Pu-erh, Raw pu-erh and Ripened Pu-Erh. Raw pu-erh is aged over years, and ripened pu-erh is aged for less time but mimics the aging process of raw pu-erh by going through a unique piling process where the tea leaves are fermented. Both types of pu-erh can be found in a tea cake form, however the pu-erh we offer is Ripe Pu-Erh in a loose leaf form.
