I first tasted holy basil at True Food Kitchen in Chicago and was excited to try it at home. I was disappointed to find the loose tea leaves were not fresh, and the flavor was equivalent to store bought tea bags. The instructions on the bag were hot clear, and did not specify what exact temperature was best. I will try again at different temps (likely 200F), but I’m not hopeful given the lack of freshness.

In every order we include a tea steeping chart, for the Organic Holy Basil we recommend steeping the tea at 210° for 5-7 minutes, depending on your preference of course. But then, I love every tea I have purchased from Full Leaf Tea Company! I add the holy basil to my routine when I am feeling a little under the weather. Health benefits aside, the flavor is smooth and yummy.
