Love the star anise. It seemed very fresh. The shape is beautiful. To me it tastes like a full-bodied licorice with a hit of fennel. There is sweetness, the tiniest hint of umami and almost a buttery quality. This is a fun ingredient to add to my homemade herbal blends. Thank you! Love that it’s organic!
