Organic Valerian Root has a strong flavor with woody and earthy notes. Many people prefer to add honey to this tea or mix it with another ingredient to make the flavor more mild.

  • Organic Valerian Root: Valerian root is best used as a mild, natural sedative and may help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, lessen migraines, and promote calmness.

Add 1-2 teaspoons of tea to 8 oz of boiling temperature water

Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes

For best results, use filtered water (water can really affect the taste of the tea if it is not filtered)

    Rest well with Valerian Tea

Have you experienced some nights where no matter how organized n content with life, you find your eyes open soon after you doze off? Or even never reaching a restoring rem for days?
Well, these n more situations n even stress have been at my own doorstep esp since 2020.
I recently bought valerian n the first evening I made one teaspoon n boiled 1/2 cup as I had a good hunch that would be my best way to drink it after it steeped n cooled down.
I got ready for sleep n when I cam back to drink it, it was yellowish-brown n the aroma very earthy n pungent. I said a prayer n sipped it in a quicker fashion than what I would sip my Pink Rose Tea by FL Tea Co.
    . It’s powerful. Remember it’s a medicinal root!
I went to the sleeping room before 11pm n slept completely thru the night until after 8 am.
The room was totally dark, just the right amount of covers n with a healthy attitude.
Yes, I do recommend this tea. I purchased the big amount. I will steep 1/2 cup at a time. It’s going to last a long time so I re-seal it well n place it with my other FL Teas in a snap lid tight bucket that fits inside my floor level cabinets.

The sample bag made about three cups. The tea is very relaxing as well as refreshing. Time for my full size order.

    Great addition!

I love that this is sold individually. I add this to the Organic Relieve Stress tea at night along with Ashwaganda.

    Literally offensive

I had a doubt when opening my sample bag, but I thought sometimes things taste better than they smell. In this case it was the opposite. It was absolutely so bad I had to immediately get a second opinion, and that didn't go well either. I'm actually glad I got the sample size, because it immediately went right into the compost, where I believe it will probably repel the critters from raiding my compost bin. Bleh. 30 minutes later and after a hot chocolate I still have the aftertaste of valerian root. One of the top 5 worst things I've ever tasted. I've already ordered replacement chamomile.

    Hi Sean,

Thank you so much for this honest review! We are very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy this tea. Organic Valerian Root is known to have a pretty unpleasant taste and/or smell so we definitely understand where you are coming from. However, with this tea the benefits tend to out weigh the unpleasant flavor/smell. To help make it more palatable, we normally recommend adding honey or combining it with another herb which will make the flavor more mild. If you would like, you can reach out to us at support@fullleaftc.com and we would be happy to help you find something else you love instead!
