How is yerba mate compared to green tea?

Yerba mate and green tea are both antioxidant-rich teas, but they offer slightly different benefits and experiences. Yerba mate typically contains more caffeine, delivering a stronger, longer-lasting energy boost that feels closer to coffee, while green tea provides a gentler lift thanks to its lower caffeine content and the presence of L-theanine, which promotes calm, focused alertness. Green tea is especially well known for its high levels of catechins like EGCG and has extensive research supporting its benefits for heart health and overall wellness.
