Can I use a different type of citrus if I don’t have orange juice?

Absolutely! You can substitute orange juice with fresh-squeezed lemon or grapefruit juice for a similar vitamin C boost and bright, tangy flavor. Just adjust the amount to taste, as lemon and grapefruit can be a bit more tart than orange.

Is it okay to skip the turmeric or black pepper?

Yes, both turmeric and black pepper are optional in this recipe. Turmeric adds anti-inflammatory benefits and a subtle earthiness, while black pepper helps your body absorb turmeric’s active compounds. If you don’t have them, your drink will still be delicious and soothing!

Can I make this drink ahead of time and reheat it later?

You can! Simply prepare the drink as directed, then store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Gently reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave before serving. For best results, add fresh mint and any garnishes just before serving to maintain their flavor and aroma.
