I have mixed feelings about the shipping insurance. Shipping these days has gotten worse regardless of carrier. I experience way more lost and damaged shipments than in the past. It would be the best case, if shipping companies would clean up their business processes, but that doesn’t seem to be currently happening. It’s like paying extra to have a company do what they we’re supposed to do to begin with at the actual price of shipping. Also, shipping insurance is redundant to the shipping claims process which I don’t care for much. Also, shipping insurance is really shifting the risk on to the customer who has no control of the process. I don’t like that either. However, based on the current mediocre to poor performance reality, I like an affordable low cost shipping insurance option. I haven’t made a claim on shipping insurance so I don’t know if I would like that any better or not.
