Orange cake is delicious on its own but the addition of earl grey takes this to the next level! This cake is beautifully moist and has a delicate bitterness that compliments the sweet icing very well.

Directions
Make the cake
Slice the orange into four, removing any seeds.
Place orange slices in a sauce pan with enough water to cover them, around 2-3 cups. Add the tea leaves and heat to a boil.
Lower the heat to a simmer and cover for 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Remove the orange slices and put them into a blender. If any tea leaves stick to them, don't worry about that! Add 1/4 cup of the tea from the pot into the blender and blend until smooth.
In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar together and then whisk in one egg at a time until well combined.
Add the blended orange and stir well.
Add the flour and baking powder and fold together.
Pour the batter into a greased loaf or cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, checking every 5 minutes at the end. Once a toothpick comes out clean, allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire cooling rack until fully cooled.
Making the icing
Combine the orange juice and powdered sugar until desired consistency is achieved.
Pour the glaze over the cooled cake and sprinkle orange zest over the icing.
Allow to set for 10 minutes and then slice and enjoy!
