Everything You Need to Know About Organic Slippery Elm
Carly Pearl-Sacks
Hi tea lovers! Today we are looking at a very unique ingredient that appears in several of our blends, Organic Slippery Elm!
Slippery elm comes from the bark of a species of elm tree native to North America. The bark has been used for centuries and it was first used by Native Americans in topical applications for wounds, burns, and skin inflammation. It was also drank in teas to help with throat and stomach irritation. This bark is a wonderful ingredient to soothe and coat the mouth, throat and stomach.
Slippery elm appears in several of our teas including Organic Lung Health, Organic Heartburn Relief, Organic Allergy Relief, and Organic Healthy Colon along with being sold by itself.
Slippery elm is a bit of a strange looking ingredient for those who are unfamiliar with its appearance. It can look very fluffy and does have a tendency to clump up in transit at times.
If you receive a blended tea with some clumpy pieces of organic slippery elm, it is easiest to pull apart the pieces to help them more evenly distribute in your tea.
